CONCEPT: Whoopi runs a group home for troubled teenagers. Maybe it should just be girls...I dunno yet. Anyway, there are a
few main characters that will be focused on. First of all, we have Whoopi as the 'mother' of the girls. She has to be harsh
with some because they're unruley but others she has to comfort and help them with their problems. We could have a girl who
was abused and ran away from home. There could be another who was involved with a gang and got caught stealing.SCENE: Two
girls are walking home from school. One is May, a young girl (about 15 years old). She is very pretty and dresses in flared
jeans and a tight, v-necked long sleeved shirt. Her brown hair is tied up in a ponytail. Her friend, Kelly, is very attractive
as well: a blonde girl with a skirt and blouse. They are laughing and talking. They stop at the end of the walkway to a very
beautiful house. May: Okay, call me tonight and let me know how it goes. Kelly: I will! I still can't believe
he asked me out! May: Yeah. I can't wait to hear the details! [smiles at her friend] Kelly: Bye! [waves
to her friend and continues to walk down the street] [May looks after her friend and walks up to her house.]
***** [SCENE: May is sliding off her shoes and putting her school bag away. She sees her parents seated in the living
room. They look upset. Her mother is holding something. May realizes that the something is her diary. May's face goes pale
white. She's frozen.] May: Why do you have my diary? Dad: May, can you come in here please? [May
walks slowly over to the living room entrance. She studies her parents. Her mom has been crying and her dad looks angry.]
Dad: When were you going to tell us? May: What are you talking about? You read my diary? Mom: I
was cleaning...I came across it. May: So you just decided to read it? Mom: I've been concerned. May:
Why didn't you just talk to me? You can't just read my diary--it's personal. Dad: May! You would've had to tell us
at some point! May: Yeah but not like this. Not now. Mom: When, May? When? May: I don't know. But
that doesn't mean it's okay to rummage through my personal belongings. Dad: This isn't about your privacy, May. This
is about you betraying our trust. Mom: We told you to stay away from him. May: I can't deal with this. [turns
and runs up stairs. A suitcase is sitting on the landing. It's her suitcase. May stops dead in her tracks and turns to look
at her dad who is standing at the bottom of the stairs.] Dad: We can't have a baby in this house. We can't have a
daughter who doesn't listen. May: So that's it? [May's mom is crying hysterically in the other room. May's
dad nods.] Dad: You have disgraced this family. May: But-- Dad: Why don't you run to him?
May: [She's crying now] Dad, I can't. Dad: Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you slept with
him. Maybe you should have thought of that before you got pregnant. May: Where will I go? Dad: Well, you're
the grown-up now so I guess you can figure that one out for yourself. May: Fine! You guys never cared about me anyway.
All you ever wanted was a perfect life and I wouldn't want to wreck that for you. [She turns and steps up the last few steps,
grabs her suitcase and pushes past her father. She slides her shoes on and pulls open the front door, slamming it behind her.
Tears are streaming down her face and she is trying hard to control her breathing. Where could she go? No one would take her
in. She had no one.] ************ [SCENE: The group home. A group of girls are seated in the living room watching
television. There's Keisha: a 17 year old black girl with short, straight hair, slim build [loud, attitude]; Sara: 16 year
old Chinese girl with long black hair, medium build [quiet, shy]; Maura: 15 year old white girl with shoulder length red hair,
medium build [immature, happy-go-lucky]; Susan: 17 year old white girl with short blonde hair, slim build [looks older than
she is, loud, attitude]; Michelle: 15 year old black girl with long braids, heavy build [quiet, nice]] Keisha: You
can't get high from being in the same room. Susan: Sure you can. If there's enough of it in there. Keisha:
Whatever. Maura: Who really cares anyway? Keisha: I do. This b*tch thinks she knows everything. [Susan
gives Keisha the finger and sticks out her tongue. Keisha laughs. Sara rolls her eyes and turns up the volume on the tv.]
Susan: What's with the new girl? [she points to the other end of the room with the nodding of her head] [They
all look over to the bay window. Seated at the window, staring outside is May. She's far enough away so that she is unaware
of their comments.] Maura: I heard her father is a millionaire. Michelle: Where did you hear that? She just
got here yesterday. Maura: I have my sources. Michelle: Were you listening at Karen's door again? Maura:
No. Michelle: Girl, you need to get a life. [laughing] [Karen (Whoopi's character) walks into the room.
Everybody turns to look at her.] Susan: Speaking of Karen... Karen: What about me? Susan: You wouldn't
wanna know. Karen: Oh really I would. Susan: We were just wondering if you had gotten laid lately? [some
of the girls snicker] Karen: I really don't think that's any of your concern, Susan. [looks over at May who is still
looking out the window] Have you made May feel welcome? Keisha: Yeah, we rolled out the red carpet and baked some
cookies. Karen: You know it's not easy being the new girl. I wish you girls would be nicer. Keisha: Why?
We're not the girl scouts. Karen: You have a little too much attitude for me today, Keisha. Would you like me to
limit your tv privleges? Keisha: [rolls her eyes] Fine. I'll become her best friend. Will you get off my back then?
Susan: Ooh, Maura would like that...having Karen on her back... [nudges Maura who blushes] Karen: Susan,
shut your mouth or you will lose privleges too. [turns to May] May? May: [turns her head towards Karen] Mmm hmm?
Karen: May, I thought we could have a house meeting. It will give you a chance to get to know the girls. May:
Okay... [slides off of the bay window seat and waits for Karen's instructions.] Karen: Have a seat. [she points to
an empty chair next to the group of girls. May walks over the chair and sits down. All eyes are on her, making her nervous.
Karen pulls up a chair for herself.] Okay, I'd like everyone to introduce themselves and maybe share something about how they've
improved since they've been here. Maura, let's start with you. Susan: [mutters under her breath] Teacher's pet.
Maura: [gives Susan a bitter look] Sure. [turns to Karen and May] I'm Maura. I'm 15 years old and I've been here for about
a month. I was kicked out of my house when my mom caught me with another girl in my bedroom. So, she would rather disown me
than deal with the fact that I'm gay. Now here I am. Um, I have improved a lot here. I'm not worried about being myself now.
I've had time to deal with my family's reaction and we've begun talking again, thanks to Karen. They still don't accept me
but I think that maybe they'll learn to after a while. I guess that's it from me. [looks at Karen to confirm her last statement]
Karen: Thank you, Maura. Let's move clockwise. Michelle, you're next. (to be continued...)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michelle: [gives a pleading
look to Karen. She really doesn't feel like sharing her story. Karen gives her a 'come on' look and Michelle sighs.] I had
some problems at home. My mom's boyfriend used to, um, you know. I don't wanna go into it. Anyway, I told my mom about it
but she wouldn't believe Michelle: [gives a pleading look to Karen. She really doesn't feel like sharing her story. Karen
gives her a 'come on' look and Michelle sighs.] I had some problems at home. My mom's boyfriend used to, um, you know. I don't
wanna go into it. Anyway, I told my mom about it but she wouldn't believe me. I ran away and basically I ended up here.
Karen: And how have you changed? Michelle: Well, before I used to keep everything to myself but now I can open
up to people. I guess that's it. Karen: Thank you, Michelle. Susan? Susan: Yadda yadda yadda. I'm getting
really tired of telling my story. Karen: Would you prefer it if I told it for you? Susan: No. I'll tell
it... My name is Susan and I've been stuck in this home for a long time. Too long, if you ask me. I got stuck here because
I stole and got caught. I haven't really changed much. Karen: [gives Susan a dirty look. Susan leans her head back
against the couch and then rolls her head around to look at Karen again. She is not about to say anything else so Karen shakes
her head and moves onto the next girl.] Sara, you're up next. Sara: I'm Sara and my story is pretty simple. I couldn't
deal with my family so I ran away...a lot... I ended up here and I'm changing bit by bit. I can actually talk with my family
for a minute without arguing. Keisha: And now it's my turn. I'll make this short so we can get the hell out of this
meeting. I'm Keisha and I was a gang banger. I got caught doing some sh*t one day and my mom couldn't deal with me anymore
so here I am. Karen: And how have you changed? Keisha: I don't gang bang anymore and I don't do drugs.
Karen: Mmmm hmmm. So, May...would you like to share your story with the girls now? May: Okay... I was dating
a guy my parents didn't approve of. I ended up getting pregnant and my parents found out when they read my journal. They couldn't
stand the thought of their reputation being ruined so they kicked me out. Me and my unborn child. I don't know what I'm going
to do but I'm glad I found this place because I didn't have anywhere else to go. My boyfriend refused to take responsibility
for our child [she's crying now] and now I've got no one. SCENE: A bedroom in the house. Maura is lying on a bed
reading a magazine. Michelle is drawing a picture in a sketch book. Maura is giving Michelle a quiz from the magazine.
Maura: A guy calls you up for a date. You don't really like him. Do you a) Accept because you can't hurt his feelings;
b) Tell him you're busy; c) Tell him you're not interested; or d) Laugh in his face and hang up the phone? Michelle:
I guess I'd pick b). Maura: I'd pick d). Michelle: You would not! Maura: Sure I would. I think
any guy that calls me up for a date must be joking. [They laugh. Suddenly the door opens and May walks in. She shares
the room with Maura and Michelle. Michelle looks down and begins drawing. Maura puts down her magazine and studies May. May
gives her a little smile and walks over to her bed.] Maura: When is your baby due? May: In June. Maura:
Are you gonna keep it? [Michelle stops drawing and listens for May's response.] May: I don't know.
Maura: Well, it can't live here. What are you gonna do? May: I don't want to talk about it right now. [she slides
off her shoes and leans back on her bed, staring at the ceiling.] Maura: Sorry. [gets up and heads over to May. She
takes a seat on the bed, next to May.] You know we're roommates and we can talk to each other about anything. May:
[sits up and moves away from Maura.] I just don't want to talk about it right now, okay? Maura: Do I make you uncomfortable?
May: [blushes] No. Maura: Just because I'm gay doesn't mean I want every girl I meet. May: I know.
Maura: Do you? [May looks away. Maura looks at Michelle who gives her a look to tell her to leave May alone. Maura
sighs and slides off of May's bed. She sits herself down on her own bed and picks up her magazine again.] May: [looks
at Maura] I'm sorry. Maura: [continues to look at the magazine] Forget about it. May: No, really. I've got
a lot on my mind. Maura: [looks at May] We all do. May: I know. Maura: [stares at May for a minute]
Do you wanna take the Diva quiz? May: What? Maura: It's a quiz in this magazine. Michelle and I were taking
it before you came in. May: [laughs] Those things are stupid. Maura: Hey, these people are experts.
May: Sure, I'll take the quiz. Maura: I bet you're a big diva. [smiles] I'll have to give you the first questions
to get you caught up to us. So far I'm a big diva and Michelle is a pushover. Michelle: [laughs] I am not! Maura:
Hey, I'm just telling you what the experts say. [turns to May] Okay...let's see... [looks at the magazine. May wipes her eyes.
Being around these girls wasn't so bad after all. Maybe she could be happy again.] --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SCENE: Karen's office. May is seated in a chair across from Karen. Karen: How are you? May: I'm okay.
Karen: Are the girls making you feel welcome? May: Sort of. Karen: What do you mean by "sort
of"? May: Well, Maura and Michelle are great. Sara's pretty quiet so I haven't really met her. And... Karen:
And Susan and Keisha are not very friendly? May: Exactly. Karen: They'll come around. They're used to maintaining
a sort of distance between themselves and other people. Just give them time. [looks at her notebook] So, you're about 6 weeks
along? [looks up at May] May: Yeah. [starts to fidget] Karen: Have you thought about what you're going to
do? May: I've thought about it but I don't know what to do. Karen: That's okay. You have time to think.
I would like you to read this information on adoption. [hands May some pamphlets and books] Read it. May: Okay.
Karen: May, you need to make an informed decision. A baby is a big responsibility. May: I know. Karen:
Can you tell me what you've been thinking about? Have you considered adoption? May: Yes. I just don't know if I could
do it. How can I let my child go? Karen: And if you don't? May: I don't know. I don't have a family right
now and I don't have any support. I don't know what I'd do. Karen: That's why I would like you to read the information
I've given you. I could also arrange a meeting with a teen mother. It might be good for you to see what it would be like to
care for a baby. Why don't you read that [points to the information she has given her] and we'll talk again. May:
Okay. [gets up to leave but turns back to Karen. Tears are forming in May's eyes.] I'm scared. Karen: I know, honey.
[gets up and goes to May. She hugs her.] It will be alright. Things have a way of working out for the best. May:
I wish I could believe that. Karen: You can. [pulls back from May, holding May's arms. She tilts her head down, trying
to look into May's eyes.] Hey, you'll get through this. May: Thanks. Karen: Anytime. [May wipes
her eyes and smiles at Karen. She takes the information and leaves. Karen watches her go.] Edited by: StaceyBourgeois

Home Movie idea -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- karen sighed as
her office door closed. she felt so bad for may. she remembered what it was like to feel so alone and to be so scared. *i
just can't believe that her parents threw her out of the house at the time she needed them the very most! they're never going
to realize what a wondeful, strong girl she really is!* karen shook her head sadly. her own parents reacted in much the same
way when she told them she was dating a white man. *i didn't even get pregnant and they threw me out!* at least she had doug
there to comfort her at the time. she really missed him during times like this; he always had a way of saying things that
really made her believe everything was going to be okay. *i hope i learned enough from him during the time we had together
to be able to instill the same feeling inside these girls. maybe i should go see him this evening if i get the chance. it's
been a while since i put fresh flowers on his grave anyway.* as odd as it seemed, the idea of sitting at his grave, comunicating
with him again in her own way, comforted her. she took a deep, cleasing breath and moved her roladex over in front of her.
if she was lucky, she might be able to get a hold of one of the teen mothers she knew and ask them if they could talk to may
sometime next week. tracy lady raven Whoopi's dreads Posts: 337 (6/1/01 5:45:24 am) Reply
Re: Group Home Movie idea -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (voice
over, on the phone) GENNY: hello? KAREN: hello, genny? genny parsons? GENNY: yes. KAREN:
hi! this is karen spindel, from the northside girls home. GENNY: (excited) karen! hello! gosh, what are doing? it's
been forever since i talked to you. KAREN: i know. how are things going now? is the baby doing good? GENNY:
yes, the baby's fine. he's hit the 'terrible twos' and he's a real handful to manage, but other than that... (she laughed)
KAREN: well, listen, that's actually what i wanted to talk to you about. i've got a new gilr hear named may. she's
as sweet as she can be, but she's so confused and scared. she's only 15 and she's about 6 weeks pregnant. her parents threw
her out of the house when they found out. GENNY: (downheartedly) god, that sounds familar. KAREN: i know
sweetheart, that's why i would very much appreciate it if you would talk to her. you've been exactly where she is now, and
she could really use someone like you for guidance. GENNY: have you talked with her about her options yet? about
what she's going to do with the baby? KAREN: just a little bit. she doesn't really want to talk about it much. i
gave her some things to read over about adoption, but i'm not sure if she could ever really go through with that. she may
very well decide to keep her baby. if she does, i want her to be informed about her decision. i want her to spend time with
a real teen age mom, that way she'll have at least some kind of idea of what she can expect. do you think you can do it?
GENNY: yeah,i think so. i can't tomorrow because i have to work a double shift, but i have the next day off. i could meet
you and may there at the office around noon. maybe i could take may out to lunch. KAREN: (greatfully)oh, that would
be wonderful! i can't tell you how much i appreciate this genny. i know how busy you are. GENNY: yeah, but i also
know how much something like this would have helped me if it had been avalible. KAREN: i'll see you then, okay.
GENNY: alright. KAREN: thanks again! i owe you one! GENNY: (jokingly) yep! karen hung the
phone up feeling a little better than before. surely seeing genny would help may in some way. she smiled to herself and rose
form her desk to go tell may about her visitor. Whoopifan Eddie's Knicks jerzey Posts: 129 (6/3/01

Ok i dont know what this is gonna sound like as it is off the top of my head anyway: SCENE: May is sitting in
her room on her bed alone almost in tears reading the Info Karen gave to her, There is a knock at the door Karen enters.
KAREN: Hi (sees may upset she sits beside her and puts her arm around her to comfort her) Hey, are you ok? MAY:
yeah, (sighs) No uhh I don't know Its like my heart says yes keep it and my head says no. D'ya know what really hurts? my
parents won't see me. I have never lived a day without being with them I really thought they wouldn't turn their back (Karen
nods understandingly) I had plans to go to College and have a good career in Journalism. I can't talk to any of the other
girls or my friends as they don't understand. Your the only one I can talk to. KAREN: Thats good because you are
gonna need some help but...at the end of the day only you can decide, MAY: See that's the thing If I do give this
baby up it will never know its real mum I want my child but I also want a life I feel as if my whole life is ruined because
i missed my Tablet KAREN: May I never had to give a Child up but I do know what its like to be shunned by your family,
I was 18 at the time I Just finnished College I was training to be a nurse for Problem child kids, Life was great I had a
family that loved me friends that liked me, life was fantastic I even got myself a boyfriend (My one and only boyfriend Doug)
I really loved him soo much I brought him home to meet my Parents but they hated him and they threw me out for dating him
MAY: Why? KAREN: Cos he was White, My parents are African they have this Theory that any black girl who
dated a white guy was a dirty little..... because I grew up in a black community I only had Black friends who hated White
People and they also disowned me MAY: Tell me to mind my own business but had you... y'know KAREN: No
and I am so glad I never because right after my parents disowned me I went to his flat to see if I could stay with him, I
had my bags packed and everything MAY: And? KAREN: found him In bed with another white woman so I broken
heartedly dumped him and faced life first in a carboard box then in a dirty shabby hostel. In that time I desperately tried
to reconcile with my family but each time they stoned me from the house MAY: Oh my god KAREN: Now 20 years
on and I don't know if my parents are dead or alive last I heard they went back to Nigeria I heard that 15 years ago I don't
know what happend Doug either not that id care. I started work here as a Toilet Scrubber so that I could make rent then my
boss saw that i has the qualifications to be a nurse so he promoted me and gave me a proper room to sleep in here , Then he
eventually promoted me some more untill I became half owner and last year I bought his share in the business I have eat here
slept and worked here most of my life and I still am in fact when you think about it I don't have a life and my Friends are
you guys (smiles a little) Actually your one step ahead of me as Ive never even did it with a guy because ive spent my life
running after you guys and keeping Susan out of Jail I wont even let her go to the shop for fear of her nicking somthing I
go for her, She got released but she just had to go back to her old theiving tricks again and so she has just joined us again.
Some kids here are here for the sake of being here they like it here cos its an easy life (sighs) ohh but look at me rambling
on about me Id really like to try and talk to your parents and I want you to meet a woman I know that was in the same situation
as you MAY: ah ha KAREN: She can help you decide what to do but initially its your choice she will spend
lunch with you while I tackle your parents MAY: Ok Thanks Karen KAREN: Not a problem don't be afraid to
talk to me im here for ya if you need me MAY: Ok (Karen sighs as she closes the door) SCENE: LIVING
AREA MAURA, MAY AND SUSAN ARE WATCHING TV, MAURA: So what you up to tonight Susan? SUSAN: Im gonna go check

Maura: Blokes? Susan: You know, guys. Maura: Yeah, I know. What, are you British now? And I don't want
a bloke, remember? Susan: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just be there if you want to go out tonight. Maura: Okay.
Susan: [turns to May] You cool with this? May: Sure. I haven't had fun in ages. Susan: Yeah, and once
you have that baby you're not gonna have fun ever again. [Maura elbows Susan to shut her up. May frowns.] Maura:
Don't listen to her. I'd be happy to babysit for you anytime. [Maura places a hand on May's shoulder to reassure her.]
May: Thanks. Susan: If you're gonna be a downer, don't bother coming. Maura: [glares at Susan] Leave
her alone. We'll be there. Susan: [shrugs her shoulders] Whatever. If you're not there by 11:30, I'll leave without
you. [gets up and leaves the room] Maura: God, she's a pill! [turns to May] Don't let her get to you, May. She's
like that with everybody. May: Yeah, I know. But she's right. Maura: No she isn't. May: If I keep
this baby, I'm not gonna be a kid anymore--I'll be a mom. I won't have time for any fun. [Maura drops her arm from May's shoulder
and looks down. She doesn't know what to say. May turns to Maura.] It's not your problem. I'm sorry. Maura: No, it's
okay. We all have things to deal with. May: But not tonight. Tonight we party. Maura: Good. [smiles at May]
May: But I am not hooking up with any guys, okay? Maura: Me neither. [Maura sticks out her tongue in disgust
and the girls break into laughter] Whoopifan Eddie's Knicks jerzey Posts: 138 (6/12/01 4:42:44 pm)

Re: Group Home Movie idea -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's
alright. BTW, Susan left so how come she's talking to them now? She's not a nice person either so I doubt she'd be all friendly
like Maura. Also, May and Maura share a room, remember? Could you edit it to fix it? Thanks a bunch. Don't stop writing!
I'm glad you're joining in! I just had to step in so our story is true to the characters that were developed. Edited

No, I meant at the beginning of your last piece of the story you have: SUSAN: That's fine may I'll go with Dave
and you two can do your thang MAURA: This is gonna be soo much fun, Hey What are we gonna wear? *****
But I had Susan leave the room and suddenly she's talking to them again like she never left....that's what I meant.

Movie idea -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SCENE: Maura and May
are sorting through their clothes, looking for something to wear. Michelle is painting her nails and listening to music. A
loud knock is heard at the door. The girls look up. The door swings open and Keisha strolls inside. Michelle: What
do you want? Keisha: Nevermind. [turns to May and Maura] Going somewhere tonight? Maura: None of your business.
Keisha: [puts hands on her hips] Yeah, well, I want to make it my business. Maura: Get lost! [Keisha
grabs Maura and shoves her onto the bed.] Keisha: Listen, you little dyke, I asked you where you're going! Maura:
[rubs her arm which is sore from Keisha grabbing it] We're just going to the new club to meet up with Dave. Keisha:
Why didn't Susan tell me? Maura: Maybe because you always end up getting her in trouble. [Keisha glares
at Maura and motions to slap her. May darts inbetween the two girls.] May: Listen, I don't think we have to fight
about this. Keisha: What, are you her new girlfriend now? Maura: Shut up! May: Stop it! Keisha:
I'd hit you if you weren't pregnant. Michelle: [mutters] Like hitting ever solved anything. May: We don't
have to fight about this. Do you want to come along, Keisha? Maura: No-- [May motions Maura to be quiet.
Keisha smiles.] Keisha: I don't need an invitation from you two. I can go where I want, when I want. Maura:
Then why don't you? Keisha: Listen you little-- May: Guys! Michelle: Keisha, why don't you just
go chill in your own room? [Keisha glares at Michelle and then turns to leave.] Keisha: See you losers tonight.
[she shuts the door behind her] Maura: May, we can't let her come. She just ruins everything! Michelle:
You shouldn't be going anywhere anyway. Susan is just using you. Maura: I know but we're gonna have fun which is
more than I can say for the rest of you. Sit home and be good while we go out and have fun. Michelle: Maura, you
know it's not right. Karen works hard to look after us. Don't let Susan influence you. Maura: I'm not influenced
by her. I want to have fun. I'm tired of following the rules. May: Michelle, it's only a club. We'll be back before
Karen wakes up. Michelle: Well, don't come crying to me when you get caught. May: We won't because we don't
plan on getting caught. Michelle: Yeah and I bet you didn't plan on getting pregnant either. [May gives
Michelle a look of disbelief and shakes her head. She leaves the room, upset by Michelle's comment. Maura sits upright and
gives Michelle a questioning look.] Maura: What gives? You didn't have to say that. Michelle: You know,
maybe it's time she took responsibility for her actions. You aren't little kids. Make the right decisions for yourselves for
once. Maura: I haven't messed up my life. Don't preach to me. Michelle: Your life doesn't seem too perfect,
Maura. Maura: You think I chose to be gay, Michelle? Do you think I want to be denied equal rights? Do you think
I want my family to disown me? Oh yeah, I chose to be a lesbian so I could have a better life. Michelle: That's not
what I meant, Maura. Maura: Maybe you should take a look at yourself, Michelle. I don't run away from my problems.
I'm working through them. Michelle: That's not fair! Maura: Hey, who said we were being fair? I think you
stopped being fair when you took that cheap shot at May. Michelle: Maura, I'm just trying to look out for you two.
Susan isn't someone you should be following around. Maura: Right now I don't think you're so hot yourself. [gets
up and leaves] Michelle: Maura-- Whoopifan Eddie's Knicks jerzey Posts: 140 (6/13/01 7:59:31

KAREN: Your damn right it wont. Y'know I work my but off here trying to keep you guys on the straight and narrow
and off the streets and Out of Prison (she looks at susan) Ive seen what living on the streets do to Kids and Hostels aren't
all they're cracked up to be either. My god compered to those places you guys are living In a palace. Y'know what Im gonna
do ? (the girls shrug their shoulders) Im gonna ground each and every one of you. For 2 Weeks all of you will be assigned
to Chores and other than to do chores and at Meal times you'll spend the rest of the time locked in your rooms. The Nurse

MAY: (Almost in tear's) I know it was wrong of me KAREN: You went with a guy, That is very stupid and dangerous
for you and you had been drinking alcohol which is very very dangerous for an unborn child. MAY: I just thought (pauses)
If I keep this child Im never gonna have a life I know it was wrong of and i am soo sorry but pleas try and understand my
reason KAREN: Whether you are pregnant or not you have still defied me. I expect this from Keisha, Susan and maybe
Maura but not you I am very dissapointed in you (the tears are running down may's face and she wipes he eyes with a tissue
she pulls from her jeans pocket) Y'know Im supposed to go and try to talk to your parents and take you to meet this woman
for lunch today and generally try and help you along with your pregnancy decision, Well f**k if im gonn help you do that now.
Go on get out you will be punnished like the others. Go (May runs out of Karen's office in tears, The nurse is disgusted
with Karen's refusal to see May's point of view and goes over beside karen and tries to get her to understand) LINDA:
I cannnot believe what you just said to that little girl... Ok she may have slipped up a bit.. but that is one very upset
and confused little girl and I seem to remember someone else who was almost in the same boat as her 20 years ago and somehow
I don't think she would have appreciated that little performance just now either (Karen begins to realise where she has gone
wrong and the nuse is angry at her) Now You get you get your little Black ass up of that chair and go talk to her and apologise.
She needs you Karen because right now you're all she has. (Karen knowing now that the nurse is right does as she is instructed
and gets up of her chair and leaves the office to go and talk to May) Edited by: Whoopifan at:
